Cinch App Reviews
Great app, functions exactly as promised. Only issue I’ve had is a few days ago I had to reinstall.. I think it was El Capitan related, but now it is working great again. Cinch is a no-brainer!
Amazing again!
Much needed update. Thank you!
I purchased this several years back when I was first starting with Macs and I haven’t looked back! This is much better than Apple’s new Split View feature in El Capitan and has always been one of the first things I install on my Macs. To me it is a must have!
I purchased this app with hopes of a Windows like window snapping feature. I thought that for the $6.99 price tag I would get that experience. I was wrong! What I’m left with is a very average app that I have already uninstalled from both my Macbook Pro and iMac because I personally do not find it all that useful. It does give you the ability to snap windows to either the left or the right side of the screen. It also gives you the ability to snap at the top to make the window full screen as stated. It DOES NOT work for all apps. For example; while I was trying to learn about Garageband, I wanted Safari and Garageband open together side by side with each window taking up half of the screen. It would only resize Garageband to the width that Garageband was limited to. Also, it doesn’t allow you to snap four windows taking up a quarter of the screen each either. I feel that you have to drag the window much further than I like to each edge of the screen to get them to snap. I give it three stars because it does as stated. It just isn’t stellar in any way and doesn’t do any better than OS X’s native split screen in El Capitan and minor resizing. If you don’t mind it’s short comings than you may personally find it useful.
After using the free version of the app for about 5 months now, I decided to support the developer! This tool is really useful and improved my productivity. It provides the Window Snapping to Mac OS. I would highly suggest pairing this application with SizeUp to really utilize your window spacing on your Mac.
Finally found a way to get drag-to-edge split functionality like Windows 7+!! This app is perfect! If you’re like me and are used to the quick-split and full-screen actions from Windows 7 (and beyond) then this app is perfect you. There are other apps that have more features like grid and application profiles but that is overkill. I’m using this app on late 2015 iMac 27 with El Capitan and no issues so far. Only app that does not work so well is VMWare Fusion 8 when in Unity mode, but that is understandable and not a big deal at all. Thanks Irradiated Software, keep up the great work!!
Regret, no quadrants
Only kind of snaps to left and right halves of screen. I regret purchasing this app. Wish I could return it and get my money back.
What more can I say? In addition to overall tidiness, Cinch gives me a big boost in productivity where comparison of any kind is concerned (articles, excel, etc…) -Its equally valuable for file transfers and general multi-window, multi-app work habits of all kinds.
